The demand in the international market is strong, and the demand for imported titanium ore is large. In addition, the imported ore from Kenmare was not shipped to the port in March, and the import volume of Mozambique declined.

Titanium raw materials are still in short supply in the international market, and the demand for titanium dioxide in the international market is strong, which has a great impact on the supply of goods in the domestic market. The import volume in the first quarter declined compared with the same period last year.

According to customs data, China’s titanium dioxide exports in March 2022 were about 145,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.32% and a month-on-month increase of 42.96%; the cumulative export volume of titanium dioxide from January to March 2022 was about 388,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 18.32%. Exports increased by about 60,000 tons.

The international market demand for titanium dioxide continues to be strong, and the market export volume also maintains a steady growth trend. In March, the export volume of titanium dioxide reached a record high, and the export volume nearly accounted for the domestic production in January/February.

In March 2022, the import of sponge titanium was about 1327.4 tons, an increase of 145.35% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of 0.12%; from January to March 2022, China’s cumulative import of sponge titanium was about 4090.3 tons, an increase of 117.67% year-on-year, and the import volume increased by about 2211.71 tons.
